Help and support

Get the bridge working again.

Use the symptom that matches what you see. These checks do not require command-line access and never ask for a pairing code, token, or password.

01

The Panel says NOT SHARING

This usually means the streamer is not sharing a current approved character. Viewers cannot enable it themselves.

  1. In Companion's top bar, confirm Twitch connected.
  2. On the Publishing Bar, confirm Channel publishing is Enabled.
  3. On Now, confirm the Game link card reads Watching while the game is open.
  4. In Characters, confirm the current character is approved.
  5. Confirm at least one category is still ticked in the game window and not set to Keep private on that character or in Channel Policy.

Still not sharing? Send the Companion event log and the handshake file.

02

The Overlay is missing

The Overlay intentionally disappears when no approved character information is available. Twitch also hides Video Overlays while the stream is offline or the viewer pauses playback.

  1. In Twitch My Extensions, confirm the Extension is activated as Overlay 1.
  2. On your channel page, confirm the stream is live and playback is running.
  3. Check the same Companion sharing settings listed for the Panel.
  4. If the Panel is active instead, switch placement there. One pairing covers both placements.

Still nothing on the stream? Send a screenshot of your channel page.

03

Pairing does not finish

A code is short-lived and can be used only once. Twitch accepting it is not the final step.

  1. Sign into Twitch as the broadcaster who owns the channel.
  2. In Companion's top bar, choose Connect Twitch, then Get pairing code.
  3. In the Twitch Creator Dashboard, open My Extensions, then Configure.
  4. After Pairing approved, return to Companion and wait for Twitch connected.

Do not paste an approved, expired, or already used code again.

Still not paired? Send the Companion event log.

04

A full Build, Gear, or Stats page will not open

Each link is a short-lived, single-use view of one already shared category.

  1. Confirm that category is shared and visible in the Panel or Overlay.
  2. Return to the Extension and select Open build, Open gear, or Open stats again.
  3. Allow the popup if the browser blocked it.
  4. Do not refresh an already opened full page. Open a fresh link from the Extension instead.

Still not opening? Send a screenshot of what the browser shows.

05

The addon or Game link is not ready

Companion opens its setup box by itself when the addon needs attention. Choose Install addon (or Sync addon again if the addon is already installed). If you do not see the box, the addon is current.

  1. Close Return of Reckoning.
  2. If Game link is running, choose Stop Game Link in that box.
  3. If the box is open, choose Install addon (or Sync addon again if the addon is already installed) and wait for confirmation.
  4. To change the game folder, open Settings in the top bar and select the main Return of Reckoning folder, the one that contains the game launcher.
  5. Start the game, then switch Game link on under Activity and diagnostics if it did not start by itself.

Still not ready? Send the Companion event log, and the crash log if Game link keeps stopping.

06

The Extension is not on your channel

Installing the Extension only adds it to your Twitch account. It reaches viewers once you activate it in a Panel or Overlay slot.

  1. Sign into Twitch as the broadcaster who owns the channel.
  2. Install the Extension from the link in step 5 of the setup guide.
  3. In My Extensions, choose Activate, then a panel slot or Set as Overlay 1.
  4. Reload your channel page.

Still not there? Send a screenshot of your My Extensions page.

07

The RSB icon is missing after installing the addon

The game loads addon files when you log in or reload its interface.

  1. If the game was open during installation, log out and back in or type /reloadui.
  2. If the icon is still missing, open Settings in Companion's top bar.
  3. Confirm the selected folder is the main Return of Reckoning folder, the one that contains the game launcher.

Icon still gone? Send the game log and the Companion event log.

08

A character does not show up in Companion

Companion adds a character by itself once the game sends it. New ones arrive unapproved. You approve each one.

  1. Log into that character in the game.
  2. Click the addon icon or type /rsb gui to open the addon window, and make sure Share from game is on, or this character will not reach Companion.
  3. On Now in Companion, check that the Game link card reads Watching. If it reads Stopped, switch it on under Activity and diagnostics.
  4. In the game, type /rsb status and read the chat reply.
  5. Type /rsb identity to print why the character has not been sent yet.
  6. Type /rsb now and wait about 15 seconds.
  7. Open Characters in Companion and look again.

Still not listed? Send the game log, the Companion event log, and the handshake file.

Open a new post in the support forum. Pick the tag that matches the support card you used. If no tag fits, pick something-else.

Send files by direct message to Wholdar. Never put files in the public support thread.

Before you copy any file

  1. Open Companion and start the game.
  2. Log into the character the problem is about.
  3. On Now in Companion, check that the Game link card above Activity and diagnostics reads Watching. If it reads Stopped, switch it on under Activity and diagnostics.
  4. In the game, type /rsb status and screenshot the chat reply.
  5. Type /rsb now and wait about 15 seconds.
  6. Copy your files without restarting the game or Companion.

The files

  • The game log: what the game sent.
    <Return of Reckoning folder>\logs\RoRStreamBridge.log
  • The Companion event log: what Companion did with it.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\RoRStreamBridge\runtime\companion-events.jsonl (send companion-events.jsonl.1 too if it is there)
  • The handshake file: what Companion answered back.
    <Return of Reckoning folder>\Interface\AddOns\RoRStreamBridge\RoRStreamBridge_Feedback.csv
  • The crash log: why Game link crashed.
    %APPDATA%\RoRStreamBridge\watcher-crash.log

Each card above says which files to send. If no card fits your problem, send the game log, the Companion event log, and the handshake file.

Also include

  • Companion version and Windows version
  • Panel or Video Overlay placement
  • The character the problem is about
  • What happened: the exact error, roughly when, what you did just before, and any restarts
  • Your screenshots

Never include

  • Pairing codes, tokens, passwords, or secret keys
  • Companion's saved-data database or credential files. Not the event log above, which is safe to send.
  • Any debug log. The streamer release does not write one.
  • Whole game folders or whole AppData folders
  • Screenshots of unrelated applications

Crop private details out of every screenshot.
